For the collector there are plenty of such places to browse, ranging from Fine Antiques to the local Vinnies. There are a number of adventure businesses to cater for abseiling, canyoning and other outdoor activities.

Katoomba has one cinema and Mt Vic Flicks at Mt Victoria provides a stimulating program of movies.

The major banks have branches locally and there are several ATM's, many business have EFTPOS.


Katoomba's Town Centre has an enticing range of cafés. Casseopia Espresso bar, 1 minute away at 79 Lurline St is a café that aims to be the neighbourhood coffee joint, where you can get excellent coffee, that you know is harvested, produced, roasted and made with love and care.

For lovers of good bread and pastries Katoomba has an excellent range of bakeries that offer a broad selection from superb sour doughs to delicate pastries.

The town provides a range of services, from the usual supermarkets, chemists, hardware shops and banks, plus services for the many tourists that flow through Katoomba.

There are three chemists in Katoomba, they work a roster so there is always one open in the day.
